Date Set for the Start of Collective Agreement Negotiations in MIA

A protocol for the manner of conducting the collective agreement negotiations will be signed by the end of February, was the conclusion from the meeting of the representatives of the Independent Trade Union of Journalists and Media Workers and the management of the Macedonian Informative Agency (MIA).

The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Mila Carovska

SSNM also met with the employees in MIA and presented the draft branch collective agreement, explained the advantages and the responsibilities arising from signing it, as well as the ways and techniques of negotiating. It was agreed that the employers and the staff should elect their representatives i.e. negotiation teams, and establish the dynamics of meetings. These will be first negotiations for a collective agreement in the media sphere outside the public media service, and SSNM will take active participation with a representative on behalf of workers. The negotiations are expected to last 60 to 90 days.

The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Mila Carovska, who supported the process and emphasized how important it is to cover all relevant employee and management issues during the process of the collective bargaining.
